Hello friends! My name is Jessica. Attorney by trade and writer at heart. I grew up in Miami, Florida, somewhere in the middle of the ocean to be more specific. I am Cuban-American, one of three girls, “tia” to 17 nieces and nephews, mother to two strong and sweet little girls, and wife to a stud. I can rarely turn down a piece of bacon, I am an avid Disney-goer, I love secret hole-in-the-wall restaurants, Farmers’ Markets make me happy, and the ocean is where I drift to in any and every scenario.
I love traveling and if I could plan a road trip to hit every restaurant that’s been featured on the Food Network, I would die happy. In my short life I’ve stood in the mist of the Iguazu Falls, I’ve been caught in the midst of three joining storms in the tongue of the Bahamas with no land in sight, and I survived the insanity that is law school. In all the things I’ve seen and done, nothing has been more of an adventure than Motherhood. This blog is dedicated to just that. Let’s adventure together.

Family first… Second and third for me. One of the strongest parts of my Cuban heritage is my love of family. My husband Robbie and I have been married for five years and have definitely tried to fill our marriage with a ‘sense of adventure.’ We love to travel together, to explore together and to EAT together. Our lives were recently blessed with the addition of our twins, Michael and Olivia. We are excited for this new adventure and I hope to share some of the things that make our lives more complete with all of you.
LAURA ALBERTI SOTO, Medicine Mom and Guest Writer
Life is a roller-coaster and I am so lucky to have a great family who is willing to go along on this ride with me. I come from a cultural melting pot – I was born in Puerto Rico and raised in Miami by a Mexican mother and a Cuban father. In 2006, I married the love of my life and I started a new journey. Being in Medical School during this time kept me quite busy but I always nurtured what was most important to me. During my Family Medicine Residency, I walked the hospital corridors with a big belly…twice. Two of my boys were born during my Residency years (2008, 2010) and my third was born in 2013 while I was already in Private Practice. I am a working mom but am extremely involved in my children’s daily activities…I truly have the best of both worlds. I am surviving life with 3 boys (4, if you count my husband) and loving every second of it! Some of our favorite pastimes as a family are going to the park and sporting events, playing superheroes, and traveling (right now Disney is the highlight but we love hitting some U.S. hotspots like D.C. and Boston). And one of my own personal passions is to dance ballet. I’ve danced for at least 25 years of my life, even while I was pregnant. I look forward to sharing my anecdotes and experiences as “Medicine Mom” of 3 boys!
